Accommodation – self catering

You arrive at the Studio up a long lane; in spring and early summer there is a profusion of wild flowers. The accommodation is accessed by 8 old granite steps (hand rail) and lies behind the owner’s house with its own gate, providing complete privacy.
 
Inside the studio

Inside, the Studio is open plan and beautifully light with roof level picture windows; plants, pictures. There is a comfortable living/dining area and an excellent fitted kitchen; big bathroom (shower/bath and washing machine). Two bedrooms, small twin on ground floor (enclosed) - and upstairs to gallery double
(small room, big bed) which overlooks the living area – sloping velux window to sky and gorse views. A laundry room with tumble drier is next to the studio.

TV, DVD, Video, CD player, fridge/freezer, microwave, cooker & central heating.

The accommodation sleeps 4 and is suitable for families, couples and individuals. Pets welcome.

You will be in the heart of Penwith moors' wild beauty surrounded by the sea. There is an amazing choice of activities, or a chance to just chill, relax, and enjoy the serenity. Here are some ideas.
 

  • beaches , rock pools for smaller children to explore in St Ives
  • stunning surf beaches – Porthmeor , Gwithian , Sennen
  • half a mile to South West Coast Path for walking and rugged North Coast headlands
  • access to some of the most ancient prehistoric sites in England , tin mining ruins , sites of iron age villages
  • visit the Tate Gallery , the Barbara Hepworth Museum & Sculpture Garden in St Ives , and explore many artists' studios and galleries in the area
  • visit the world famous biomes at the Eden Project near St Austell
  • enjoy outdoor activities – rockclimbing , birdwatching , seal spotting , scuba diving
  • relax and unwind on golden beaches eg Gwithian , Lelant , Porthcurno , Watergate Bay ( Newquay )

  • take a day trip to the Isles of Scilly on The Scillonian , or go by helicoper from Penzance
  • visit St Michael's Mount , off the coast near Penzance , and the unique Minack open air cliffside theatre with spectacular views over Porthcurno Bay

Some times of the year are special in Penwith because of local festivals eg: New Years Eve in St Ives – fancy dress.
June 16th – 24th Golowan Festival: The Feast of John in Penzance; a week of events culminating in the Mazey Day processions, music, and street theatre.
September 8th - 22nd St Ives September Festival of Music and Art (jazz, blues ,world), artists galleries open
